Marcela Lagunas

Marcela Lagunas was born in Oaxaca City, Mexico. She got musical education in the Puebla City Conservatory and the Veracruz University School of Music, directed in the Cello by two great masters: Anna Macklackiewitz and David Nasitze. During her career, she has taken master classes with Wolfgang Laufer, Richard Luvi and Richard Markson. In 1998 she won a scholarship to be part of an important musical project for young creative people.

Marcela Lagunas have performed in several parts of Mexico and have been part of many important chamber music groups, playing in remarkable national festivals such as the "Chamber Music Festival of San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico" editions XIX, XX, XXII and XXIV as well as chamber music recitals in Veracruz, Mexico City, Puebla, Guanajuato and Querétaro. She has played in very important Mexican Symphonic Orchestras such as Xalapa Symphony Orchestra, University of Guanajuato Orchestra, Young Symphonic Orchestra of Veracruz (playin as Principal Cellist), Acapulco Orchestra, Querétaro Symphonic Orchestra, playing as soloist the Haydn Concerto in C, Oaxaca Symphony Orchestra and the Puebla Symphonic Orchestra.
